Foreword

Welcome to the new issue of Soldier Modernisation, www.soldiermod.com. We have completely updated the programmes section, which has been extended and is available in its entirety online.

We have articles from the US Army on transformation across the Pacific, as well as it's most recent exercise integrating emerging technologies to enhance situational awareness. We also cover the multinational Best Drone Warfighter competition, which brings in to focus the amount of skill needed in this area. From the British Army we look at training and linking up with Finnish troops for Arctic Warfare training, as well as the new training partnership formed in Japan.

From Dstl we look at Nato's integrated wargaming expertise and also the EDA's expanding role in European defence development.

We look at New Zealand's new motorized division and the partnerships being developed by the Australian military. We have articles across the spectrum of technology from comms and drones to connectors and sights.
